Vidal Sassoon was a legendary British hairstylist who changed women's haircutting and the global hairdressing industry, and the school he founded still teaches the method he built.
Sassoon Academy is an internationally recognised education system with over 70 years of experience, taught the same way in every country where it works.
It's not an aesthetic — it's a system of professional thinking, now available in Dubai. Ele Bos brought the school here together with Sassoon Academy UK instructors.
Sassoon heritage
In 1954 Vidal Sassoon introduced a different approach: precise geometric form rather than styling. The Five-Point cut of 1964, with its mathematical precision and architectural geometry, became one of the profession's most recognisable works.
What you will learn
ABC Cut is a gender-neutral method: it works on all hair types and textures.
Creating precise geometric shapes — the foundation every cut in the Sassoon system is built on.
Clean outline and perimeter, built volume and controlled weight, movement and texture.
Bringing line, graduation and layering together into one coherent shape.
Refining the cut: personalisation, texture and the detail that makes the shape wearable.
Which products support which shape, and how much of them the hair actually needs.
A lecture on choosing the right cut: head shape, hair type and texture, and the client in front of you.
How the training works
The instructor demonstrates the technique and explains every step of the work.
Participants study the logic of the shape: angle, direction and weight.
Practice on training mannequins under instructor supervision.

Three full days of practical education at Avant Garde, Dubai. The course costs 8,000 AED, or 7,000 AED for the first 20 places; your place is secured with a 4,000 AED advance payment and confirmed as soon as the payment clears.

Full Course — 8,000 AED, 20 places: hands-on cutting, instructor feedback and a Sassoon Academy certificate. Observer Pass — 2,000 AED, up to 100 places: theory and live demonstrations only, no practice and no certificate. The first 20 of each are 7,000 and 1,500 AED.

Doors open at 10:00. Teaching runs to 17:00 on each of the three days. Please arrive fifteen minutes early on the first morning for registration.
Your own cutting tools. Training mannequins, stands and all course materials are provided; recommended tools can also be bought on site.
Equiti on the Red Line is the closest station, 4.3 km away; Business Bay is about 9 minutes by road. Al Quoz Industrial is not walkable from either — take a taxi for the last stretch.
Give the driver the Plus Code 46XM+HQ Dubai, or ask for Al Tayer warehouse 38 on Street 5B in Al Quoz Industrial First. Street numbers in Al Quoz are easy to confuse, so the Plus Code is the surest way to arrive at the door.
There are only a few spaces at the building itself. There is more parking on the surrounding streets, a short walk away — come a little early on the first morning.

The course is taught in English with Russian translation.
Please bring your own cutting tools: cutting scissors, cutting combs, brushes, sectioning clips, a water spray bottle and a hairdryer. Mannequin heads, stands and all course materials are provided. Recommended tools can be ordered through us.

The course fee is 8,000 AED, or 7,000 AED for the first 20 places. The advance payment is 4,000 AED either way: it secures your place, and the balance is paid on arrival on the first day. The 2,000 AED demonstration ticket — 1,500 AED for the first 20 seats — is always paid in full at booking.
Book online and pay the amount the form shows for your ticket and payment method. Practical places are limited to 20 per group and are only held once the payment is confirmed.
Coffee, tea and water are provided throughout the day. Lunch is not included, but there is a café inside the venue where you can order and eat on site.
If you cancel more than 7 days before the course, your deposit is refunded, or it can be transferred to another group or a future course. Cancellations within 7 days of the course are non-refundable. See our full Refund Policy for details.
The balance is paid on the first day of the course, at registration, in cash or by card.
